You know you can search for homes, cars and jobs on our websites, by email, by RSS and even using our Firefox plugin. Now you can also use your Instant Messenger, in order to receive alerts on your Google Talk or MSN client.

It’s really easy to use, you just have to add the following users to your friends list and type HELP to know the list of commands the bot is able to understand.
The usernames for Google Talk are:
homes.trovit.co.uk@gmail.com - for homes
cars.trovit.co.uk@gmail.com - for cars
jobs.trovit.co.uk@gmail.com - for jobs
The usernames for MSN are:
homes.trovit.co.uk@hotmail.com - for homes
cars.trovit.co.uk@hotmail.com - for cars
jobs.trovit.co.uk@hotmail.com - for jobs
You can perform searches directly using your Google Talk or MSN client, and create or delete custom alerts. Soon, it will run also with Yahoo! Messenger, Skype and ICQ. We hope you like it.
As you have probably seen, a few days ago we added filters to our searches of homes and cars.
When you search for a home, you can filter your results by publication date, price, floor area, number of rooms and bathrooms and property type. When you set a filter, it will show up in the upper part of the left column, surrounded by a blue border; in the example, we have set filters for price and number of rooms. If you want to remove that filter, just click on the “X” next to it or use “Undo all” to remove all the filters.
In Trovit Cars you can filter your searches by publication date, price, mileage, fuel, year, transmission type of number of doors.
One word of advice regarding filters: as you know, not all of the ads include all the information: for instance, some sources do not have the floor area for homes. As a result, when you filter for a given range of floor area, ads that do not have that information will not show up in the search.
We hope you all like this new improvement and that it allows you to find the ads you’re looking for.
If you use Google’s personalized home page or Google Desktop you can now add a Trovit gadget to search for ads.
Once you add the gadget to your homepage you can define a search for homes, cars or jobs and the gadget will continuously update its results, check out this screenshot:

If you want to add Trovit to your homepage, just click on the button:
Another nice thing of Google Gadgets is that they can be included in any webpage (for example, your own blog). For example, we have included here a search for journalist jobs in London:
If you want to add a Trovit Gadget to your website just go here, you will be able to personalize the search query, size of the gadget and colors and then you will get a short code that you can just copy-paste to your website and you’re done!
If you are one of the many users of Netvibes, we have created a new module that will allow you to search on Trovit from your personalized Netvibes home page.
Once you have added the module to your home page, you only have to select your country, the type of ad you want to search (jobs, homes for rent, homes for sale or used cars), type a search query and you will instantly see the latest ads that match your query, just like the following screenshot.

If you want to add this module to your home page, you can go to the module’s page on Netvibes or you can simply click on the following button:

For those of you who use Firefox as your browser of choice, we have developed these search plugins, which will add Trovit search to the search engine menu in the top right corner of your Firefox browser.
To install any of the four plugins we have developed, just click on the one you’re interested in:
If you prefer it, you can add any of our plugins from Mozilla’s website
We hope you like this new feature, and please contact us with any suggestion you might have.
We are very happy to announce the launch of Trovit in Italy: Trovit Case for real estate sales and rentals, Trovit Auto for used cars and Trovit Lavoro for jobs.
The sites are fully functional and have lots of interesting ads, but we are still working hard to increase the number of sources and ads available for our users. Please contact us if you would like to suggest us a source of ads to include in our index.
As always, we would love to hear any suggestion or criticism you might have.
You can place a Trovit search box on your website or blog and allow users to search thousands of homes, jobs and cars directly from your site. For example, this is how a search box for homes in the UK will look like on your site:
If you want a search box like that in your site you just need to copy a small piece of HTML in your site, you will find the instructions here.
We hope you and your users find this feature useful. As usual, in case you have any suggestions or problems please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Trovit Homes is integrated with Google Maps, which allows you to find you home for sale or for rent in a map.
Using Trovit Maps is very simple, just go to the maps page and you will see a map of London with homes for sale (in blue) and for rent (in red). If you click on any of the icons you will see a bubble with a short description of the property and a picture. You can click on the bubble to see the complete ad.
To move the map you just have to click on the map and drag it in any direction; once you finish dragging, new properties will come up in the map. You can also move the map using the controls on the top-left of the map and also change the zoom level.
One word of caution: only properties that have their complete address in the ad are shown in the map. As you know, many times sellers don’t publish the address in the ad, so if you want to search in all the ads you still have to use the normal search engine.
We hope you like this option and you find it useful. In case you have any comments or suggestions please contact us, we love hearing from our users.
Trovit is a search engine for classified ads, as simple as that.
Have you ever had to surf tens of sites in search of your next car, home or job? And if you don’t find anything you have to repeat the same search the next day, waisting your valuable time. Trovit’s goal is to help you find the ads you’re interested in with the least effort from you.
How does it work? Trovit’s robot visits tens of sites with classified ads (homes, cars and jobs) and allows you to search all those ads from a easy to use searchbox like the one you can find in any search engine (Google, Yahoo, MSN…). When you find an ad you’re interested in, just click on it and you will be taken to the original ad, where you will find all the information to contact the seller or employer.
You can also set email alerts or personalized RSS feeds that will inform you as soon as a new ad that interests you is published.
On the other hand, Trovit does not want to compete with classified ads sites; on the contrary, Trovit aims to be a source of traffic to those sites, as all the other search engines are. Trovit’s search results include a limited text of the ad and the user will always have to visit the original source to read the complete ad. If you have a website with classified ads and want to allow Trovit’s users to search you ads, please contact us and we will include them as soon as possible.
We hope you like Trovit and of course we are open to any suggestion or criticism you might have, just leave us a comment in this blog or use the contact form.
