If you want Trovit to include the ads from your site in its search results, and you have over 50 ads, just follow these steps:

Set up an XML file in the format described below
Download our validator to ensure that your XML feed is Trovit friendly
Using our contact form, send us an email that includes a URL where we can read the XML file you have created. For example: http://www.yourdomain.com/trovit_feed.xml
Keep in mind that we only accept feeds with car listings. We don’t include bikes, motorbikes, scooters, boats, car parts…

XML Feed Format

Here are some simple guidelines to create an XML file and include the ads from your site in Trovit. If you need more information about the XML format, check Wikipedia.

The XML file has one ‘trovit’ tag, and one or more ‘ad’ elements. Each ‘ad’ element has the following fields:

id: id of the ad in your website (numeric or alphanumeric, but has to be unique because we use it to avoid duplicate entries)
url: URL of the ad on your website
title: title of the ad
content: description of the car (minimum of 30 characters)
price: price of the car (integer value)
make: make of the car (optional)
model: model of the car (optional)
color: color of the car (optional)
year: year of the car (optional)
city: city name
city_area: city area (optional)
postcode: postcode/ ZIP code (optional)
region: name of the region/county/state (optional)
mileage: mileage of the car in miles or kilometers (optional)
doors: doors of the car (optional)
fuel: car’s fuel (i.e. gasoline/petrol, diesel, etc) (optional)
transmission: transmission of the car (manual/automatic) (optional)
engine_size: engine size of the car in c.c. (optional)

power: power of the car (optional). You can choose one of these lines:

seats: seats in the car (optional)
gears: number of gears (optional)
pictures: URLs for the pictures for this ad, see the information below
date: date of the ad in the following format: DD/MM/YYYY
time: time of the ad in the following format: HH:MM (optional)
is_new: 0 if it is a used car, 1 if it is new (optional)
car_type: what kind of car: standard, 4×4, pick-up, etc (optional)
warranty: whether the car is still under warranty or not (optional)

pictures: the ‘ad’ element may contain a set of ‘picture’ fields as part of the ‘pictures’ tag.
The tags of each ‘picture’ element are:

title: title of the picture (optional)
url: URL of the picture on your site

Please don’t include corporate images with information such as “No image available”.
