If you want Trovit to include the ads from your site in its search results, and you have over 50 ads, just follow these steps:

Set up an XML file in the format described below
Download our validator to ensure that your XML feed is Trovit friendly
Using our contact form, send us an email that includes a URL where we can read the XML file you have created. For example: http://www.yourdomain.com/trovit_feed.xml
Keep in mind that we only accept feeds with listings of homes for sale or for rent. We don’t include rooms for rent, garages, plots of land, commercial property… at least not yet!

XML Feed Format

Here are some simple guidelines to create an XML file and include the ads from your site in Trovit. If you need more information about the XML format, check Wikipedia.

The XML file has one ‘trovit’ tag, and one or more ‘ad’ elements. Each ‘ad’ element has the following fields:

id: id of the ad in your website (numeric or alphanumeric, but has to be unique because we use it to avoid duplicate entries)
url: URL of the ad on your website
title: title of the ad
type: type of the ad: “For rent” or “For sale”
agency: name of the agency (optional)
content: content of the ad (minimum of 30 characters)
price: sale or rent price of the home (integer value). For rentals, you can indicate the period of rent: weekly or monthly, by choosing one of these lines:

property_type: apartment, studio, condo, etc. (optional)
floor_area: area of the property, in square feet (set unit=”feet”) or square meters (unit=”meters”). (optional, integer value).
rooms: number of bedrooms (optional)
bathrooms: number of bathrooms (optional)
parking: 0 if it does not have parking, 1 if it does (optional)
address: address (optional)
city: city name
city_area: city area or neighborhood where the property is located (optional)
postcode: postcode/ ZIP code (optional)
region: name of the region/county/state (optional)
latitude: latitude (optional)
longitude: longitude (optional)
pictures: URLs for the pictures in this ad, see the information below
virtual_tour: URLs of the virtual tour of the property (optional)
date: date of the ad in the following format: DD/MM/YYYY
time: time of the ad in the following format: HH:MM (optional)
expiration_date: expiration date of the ad
plot_area: surface of the land on which the property is located (optional, integer value)
floor_number: floor number (optional)
orientation: orientation of the property: north, south, east or west (optional)
foreclosure: whether the property is foreclosed or not (optional)
mls_database: MLS id (optional)
is_furnished: whether the property is furnished or not (optional, format: 0 = No, 1 = Yes)
is_new: 1 if it’s a new home, 0 if it’s not (optional)
condition: for instance “second hand apartment” (optional)
year: year of the construction of the house or apartment in the following format: YYYY (optional)

pictures: the ‘ad’ element may contain a set of ‘picture’ fields as part of the ‘pictures’ tag.
The tags of each ‘picture’ element are:

picture_title: title of the picture (optional)
picture_url: URL of the picture on your site

Please don’t include corporate pictures with information such as “No image available”.

The XML feed should look like this:
